Field Fundraising Coordinator

Summary

Reporting to the National Senior Director of Field Fundraising, this position will assist with the management and coordination of the Foundation’s fundraising special events. Candidate must have experience in event logistics, event promotion, managing volunteers and fundraising platforms. Must be detail oriented and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Support the creation, development and management of special events fundraising initiatives
• Develop and manage the third-party event fundraising platform(s) and system(s) using the latest tools, technology and industry best practices; grow and maintain revenue
• Work with Foundation staff and external vendors and groups, when appropriate, to develop and maintain technology and logistics, event websites and resources, event invitations, announcements, signage and other promotional materials for special events;
• Develop and maintain professional relationships with vendors;
• In collaboration with the development team, responsible for developing and monitoring special events budgets and gross event revenue on a local and global scale through consistent reporting;
• Assist Chapters and Affiliates in growing their fundraising efforts through fundraising platforms and creating best practices, resources and training opportunities;
• Manage and respond to inquiries about special events receive through phone and email
• Assist in the special events department with the creation, development and planning of walk initiatives, activities, and participant coaching and recruitment.
• Assist in the management and coordination of event day activities as needed for walks
• Identify marketing opportunities to promote and secure volunteers, donors and staff involvement
• Perform other duties as assigned

Supervisory Responsibilities

• This position may supervise special events intern(s)

Education/Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree and at least 2 years of marketing, fundraising and/or event experience with ability to demonstrate success
• Experience bringing model programs/events to new networks or geographic locations, working on a nationwide or global scale

Specific Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Licenses, Certifications, etc.

• Knowledge of:
  • Basic accounting practices
  • Nonprofit organizations and grassroots fundraising
  • Database management and fundraising software use including solid analytical skills
  • Marketing techniques and practices
  • Basic administrative processes and procedures
  • Special event management and large regional or national event management
• Ability to:
  • Work effectively as a team member
  • Utilize technologies (Microsoft Office Suite, etc.)
  • Produce in a fast pace environment--- excellent organizational skills are required
  • Work outside of normal business hours as needed
  • Communicate effectively (written and presentation) and have organizational and relationship building skills
  • Deliver high quality work under time-sensitive deadlines, and the ability to work with volunteers and staff at all levels
  • Travel up to 25%
